HEALTHY KICK START.

I love getting surprises in the post and this is a refreshing piece of mail. My sister and I recently went to the Good Food Show in Birmingham and we drooled over B Fresh's juices. They're super healthy by cold pressing veggies and fruits so they don't lose any of their nutrients and good stuff.

We sampled all the different juices they had to offer and they were all super tasty. It's great to know that they're so healthy yet delicious. We ended buying one of their juices each to quench our thirst and also signed up to their newsletter. Recently we received a lovely email thanking us for visiting them at the show and for signing up to their newsletter. Also contained within the email they were giving away 2 juices as a early Christmas present! I decided on the #hydrationgreen and #carrotkick.

I love how revitalising their juices are and they are a perfect way to kick start a healthy diet for the new year! If there is one thing you shouldn't scrimp on then it would be your body.

YSL LE TEINT TOUCHE ÉCLAT FOUNDATION IN B50.

YSL's Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation has been on my wish list for a while now. My normal rule of thumb with foundations is to finish a bottle before buying a new one but it was too hard to resist with this one.

The formula goes onto my skin very smoothly. It's not exactly a thick formula but covers all my blemishes. B50 matches my skin tone really well and I rarely find such a good match. My sister and I looked by ourselves before asking for help from the counter staff and I said to her immediately that the colour for me was B50. When the counter lady matched my tone she said I was a shade lighter and I disagreed, so then she tried B50 and said this was the matching shade I concurred. I could tell straight away what my shade was but it's good to be certain and get a second opinion. The last thing you want is a foundation that is a different shade to your natural skin tone.

It doesn't dry my skin and is a lightweight formula. I tested wearing the foundation alone with no concealer or powder to see how well it stayed put. The outcome was it stayed put for most of the day but I can see where I have applied the foundation to cover my more prominent spots has not held up. I would love for this foundation to have a slightly thicker consistency, then I would agree that it's perfect. As it is, it does its job and makes me skin look even and all around glowing.

I love how sophisticated the bottle looks, I always love gold packaging if it's used tastefully and YSL have nailed it. It really does make the product look a million dollars. The whole Touche Éclat collection is faultless.

When purchasing the foundation I got completely suckered into purchasing YSL Le Touch Éclat Concealer. I've used the concealer before and it's worked wonders but it was most definitely not a planned purchase. I did get a sample size of YSL's Babydoll mascara with the concealer too.

YSL Le Teint Touch Éclat Foundation £30.50, available to purchase here from Boots.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

The beauty world comes out with some strange yet innovative inventions. From the trusty eyelash curler to dry shampoo, the beauty market is always thriving with new inventions to make us beautiful with a little less effort and time.

Hair Removing Spring Threader.
I can see the beauty world taking hold of this and rebranding it to sell for a ridiculous price so before that happens hop onto Ebay and get yours for a bargain price of 99p. If you type in something like "hair removal spring" then you will come across it. It basically traps the hair in the springs and pulls them, like threading but without the fiddly piece of thread. I only use it on the hair above my lip and it has been a saviour. It's a little hard to control so I would strongly recommend you don't use it on your eyebrows. You can also go for a different style with a handle too, try typing in "hair removal spring handle".

Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush.
This brush is perfect for liquid eyeliner. It's not so good with gel eyeliner because the brush doesn't retain as much of the make up in it's silicone head. It's super easy to clean and you don't have to worry about make up getting stuck in between the bristles. I have done a full review of this already so to see that post, click here.

Facial Massager.
Ever wanted to get rid of that double chin? Well now you can with a facial massager. You too can achieve that V shape chin by giving it a work out using a massager everyday. I remember coming across massagers that targets that excess flab on your thighs and also one that can rid your bingo wings in Hong Kong!

One innovative beauty product must-have, which I happen not to own, is the Clarisonic. My sister has one and she says that is has changed her skincare routine and really made a difference to her skin. I've wanted one for so long and I'm saving up my money to purchase one and see the difference for myself.

THE BROW GAME.

"Fill and define your brows while you are waiting for your natural brows to grow back in." Anastasia Soare.

We're not all born with Cara Delevingne's eyebrows but that shouldn't stop us from having some serious looking brows.

Here are my top tips to achieving perfect brows:

  • Get your eyebrows professionally done at least once. I am a huge fan of eyebrow threading, as soon as the beautician is done I instantly get fuller looking eyebrows and that's without any products on. If you ask for a tidy-up then the professional can groom your eyebrows to make them neater without changing their natural shape. From then on it will be easier for you to groom the hairs growing below the brow neat.

  • Pluck stray hairs between the brows. Your inner corner of your brows should line up with the inner corner of your eye. Whatever you do never, never, ever over pluck your eyebrows, take a step back from the mirror and access your brows. If you keep plucking at every hair that appears out of place then you'd be left with no eyebrows at all!

  • Always use small feather-like strokes rather than one long line. You want it to look as natural as possible so start from the inner corner of the brow and end at the outer corner. You don't want to recreate your brows or fill them in like a colouring book so it's more about neatening your natural brow shape.

  • If you have gaps in your eyebrows then use a brow pencil in a slightly lighter shade to draw in short-hair like lines.

  • Use a shade lighter than your brows to highlight the inner brows and then use the same tone pencil or shadow for a natural look. Brown's Brow Kit #2 has two shades: Saddle and Mahogany, so use Saddle for the inner brows and to define a line underneath. Then brush through small strokes of mahogany throughout the rest of the brows. This kit is über chic and it even comes with the cutest mini tweezer and eyebrow brush!

REVLON COLORSTAY MOISTURE STAIN IN MIAMI FEVER AND NEW YORK SCENE.

Revlon have brought out some serious game changers to the lip stain scene. I love the modern and contemporary packaging.

They have a glossy, high shine finish that have a 3-4 hour staying power. There is a slight transfer when eating and drinking but I expect that because it's not a matte lip colour. They keep my lips hydrated and makes my lips look glossy and intense.

I love the doe foot applicator because makes for an easy application and evenly distributes the product. It's a wide applicator brush so it covers a wide area whist the V shaped tip helps to neaten the lines.

Miami Fever is a vibrant red with a hint of orange creates a fun and playful look. My favourite is New York Scene which is a deep red lip stain creates a a dark and captivating look.

Both are bold and statement colours that really makes an outfit. I see myself torn between them on which to choose for a night out. I love the dark and alluring side to New York Scene, but Miami Fever is a much more vibrant and fun... oh, decisions, decisions...
